It has officially been one whole year since “The Little Girl With the Big Hair” was released! Sometimes it is easy to think of all that you have not been able to accomplish yet. The losses seem so much more frequent and bigger than the wins. In this post, I will reflect on the wins.

The year started out on a high with The Listening Tree being the first book store to house “The Little Girl With the Big Hair.”

It wasn’t long before we were flown out for our first ‘out of state book signing!’ Thank you Avia’s Weave Boutique!

Up Next: The #Egochallenge that garnered over 200,000 likes & shares!

Being invited to be a guest reader for “Dr. Seuss’s, Read Across America,” kicked the Spring off right!

Our third book signing followed. Thank you Nia Nicole Salon!

We would prove to be a success at The World Natural Hair Show, selling out of books in only a couple of hours!

Next, we kicked off “A Summer Abroad,” traveling around the world to read to students & donate school supplies in countries striving to get ahead!

St. James, Jamaica

As summer wraps up, we will be releasing the third part of the series, “The Little Girl With the Big Hair: Coloring Book.”

On August 5th, we will celebrate the series being available for checkout at Lutcher Library, in Louisiana; The first public library to house the series!

In one year, we have sold over 2,000 copies of the series, inspired thousands of children & adults, and found a way to give back! Happy Anniversary to “The Little Girl With the Big Hair!” May we continue knocking down doors and promoting self love and self acceptance!
